Our names our Dr. Kyle Mulrooney and Dr. Alistair Harkness. If you are aged over 18 years and involved in farming, we invite you to take part in this voluntary study about farm crime in Australia.

Farm crime is considered to be crimes that affect farming operations. This includes incidents of crime that impact on the function of the pastoral, agricultural and aquaculture industries.
 
Research Project Australian Farm Crime Survey
Aim of the Research To understand your experiences and perceptions of farm crime; your attitudes towards the policing of and criminal justice responses to farm crime and; your awareness and implementation of crime prevention measures.
Survey This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Confidentiality You are not required to provide any identifiable data and you can be assured that details of personal experiences of crime or any identifying information will not be included in the research.
Participation is Voluntary Please understand that your involvement in this study is voluntary and I respect your right to stop participating in the study at any time without consequence and without needing to provide an explanation. However, once you have submitted your responses you cannot withdraw your answers, as responses are anonymous.
Use of Information The information you provide will allow us to have a better understanding of the scope of the problem as well as find out what measures might be taken to reduce the incidence of farm crime across Australia. Information from the survey may also be used in academic journal articles and conference presentations.
Upsetting Issues The survey will ask you about rural crime and criminal justice. It is unlikely that this research will cause psychological or emotional stress but if it does you may wish to contact your local Community Health Centre or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Storage of Information All electronic data will be kept on Qualtrics as well as cloud.une.edu.au, UNE’s centrally managed cloud server and managed by myself. It will also be kept on a password protected computer. Only the named researchers will have access to the raw data.
Disposal of Information
 
All the data collected in this research will be kept indefinitely after the completion of the project.

By participating in this survey you are eligible to enter into a draw to receive 1 of 10 available $100 pre-paid VISA cards.  To enter, at the conclusion of the survey, you will have the option to link to another survey which will ask for your email address. In this way, your email and identity is not connected to your survey answers and, therefore, you maintain anonymity.
